Rebtrix is an Electric-type Creo whose ferocious, bucktoothed smile evokes fear wherever it goes, and rightfully so.

One could argue that stunning prey before devouring it is an act of mercy, not cruelty, as it spares prey the pain of being conscious while torn limb from limb, but that fact does not do much to soften Rebtrix's reputation.

Biology

Rebtrix's teeth crackle with electrical energy. Splotches of gold fur on its otherwise black coat stick up in jagged peaks around its chest and form a three-pronged tail. As if in warning, spots the color of blue flame mark its forepaws, ears, and face.

Because Detron can derive electrical charge directly from lightning storms and certain alpine plants and minerals, metabolic functions that Rebtrix does not share, Detron serves as Rebtrix's primary source of electrical energy. Luckily for Rebtrix, consuming a single Detron supplies enough energy for up to three months, during which Rebtrix can stun and hunt other prey.

If juveniles do not learn to control the use of their teeth, including how to calibrate the amount of shock they want to deliver, and when to activate and deactivate their charge, they risk depleting valuable stores of electrical potential energy or even harming each other and themselves.

Rebtrix live in foothill regions at the base of large mountain ranges, but they conduct much of their hunting at higher altitudes in hopes that they can bring down Detron. This is no easy feat, as Detron have their own electricity to reckon with, and Rebtrix must be careful should they choose to stun one so that the attack does not rebound and paralyze them. While they do not live in packs, Rebtrix mothers are very protective of their young, ensuring not only that they are well-fed, but that they learn the art of hunting.
