Regodon is a hulking Earth-type Creo with thick, leathery gray skin, a huge mane of coarse brown hair, and tough calluses on its front legs that resemble knee pads.

While they are not very welcoming to their own kind, Regodon carvings are quite intricate and have invited much human curiosity and study.

Biology

Regodon's most intimidating feature is its pair of long tusk-like teeth, which it uses to mark its territory by carving into rocks. It is speculated that Regodon's knee pads develop from the amount of time it spends kneeling in order to make precise incisions. Despite their razor-sharpness, Regodon's teeth have strictly vegetarian functions. Apart from marking territory, they are used to dig for edible roots and tubers. They also help Regodon strip bark off trees for food and move obstacles out of its way.

Regodon's thick skin is still sensitive to the sun in its exposed environment.

Regodon are nearsighted, which is why they must kneel so close to the ground to make their markings. Naturally, this complicates their ability to notice the warning markings of rivals. Instead of relying on eyesight, Regodon have evolved incredibly sensitive skin on their feet to discern the exact texture of whatever surface they walk on.

Regodon live in rugged, rocky plateaus that are dotted with shallow pools of water. Regodon bathe daily in said pools, plastering themselves with a soothing layer of mud. Regodon are very possessive of their watering holes, especially in the summer when water sources are susceptible to drying up, hence the vast amounts of time they spend chiseling unique patterns of symbols on surrounding stone surfaces to warn other Regodon to keep away.

Regodon's territorial nature does not correspond to a propensity for aggression; in fact, they are quite conflict averse and prefer not to engage in confrontations with each other. As an extra safety measure to avoid unwanted run-ins, Regodon make grunts, snorts, squeaks, and even whistle-like sounds to announce their approach. If they hear a wary growl in response, they know it is time to turn around.
