Volcadon is a Fire-type creo whose fireproof skin makes it immune to burns, even from lava.

Far more people can say they have heard Volcadon's roar than can say they have seen the creo itself, and every account of it differs a little.

Some call it mournful and haunting, though not entirely unpleasant. Others swear it chilled them to the bone. Still others describe a deafening, bone-shaking din that left them afraid the earth would cave in on them.

There may be some truth in all of it.

Biology

Volcadon's red and yellow mane makes its head look like it is on fire, and its tail is an actual jet of flame that it can switch on and off at will as a light source in dark caverns.

Volcadon's diet reflects both its underground life and its need for special nutrients to fuel that flame. Two sharp protruding incisors let it gnaw on heat-hardened fungi, mineral-rich crystal growths, and tough root systems that draw nutrients from deep geothermal soil. It is also believed to eat certain mineral deposits directly, grinding down soft volcanic rock for the trace elements that keep its internal heat high.

Volcadon can wade across streams of molten rock without feeling so much as a tingle. It is most at home in vast underground caverns carved out by ancient, and sometimes not so ancient, volcanic activity.

Volcadon rarely cross paths in the maze of passages they roam. That does not mean they have no contact at all. Many creo scientists believe that mysterious, indescribable roar is how Volcadon communicate with their own kind across long distances, and that the different tones of the call depend on the message or the mood behind it.
