Volcadon is a Fire-type Creo whose fireproof skin renders it impervious to burns, even from lava.

More people can attest to hearing Volcadon's roar than they can to having seen the elusive Creo. Each ear-witness testimony reports a slightly different experience.

Some say that it is mournful and haunting, but not altogether unpleasant, while others swear that it chilled them to the bone. Still others claim that it was a deafening, bone-shattering din that made them afraid that the earth would collapse in on them.

Perhaps all these accounts have some truth to them.

Biology

Volcadon's red and yellow mane gives the appearance of its head being on fire, while its tail is an actual jet of flame that can be turned on and off at will as a source of light in dark caverns.

Volcadon's diet reflects both its subterranean lifestyle and its need for special nutrients to fuel its flame production. It has two sharp protruding incisors that allow it to gnaw on heat-hardened fungi, mineral-rich crystal growths, and hardy root systems that draw nutrients from deep geothermal soil. It is also believed to consume certain mineral deposits directly, grinding down soft volcanic rock to extract trace elements that help maintain high levels of internal thermal energy.

Volcadon can wade across streams of molten rock without feeling so much as a tingle. It feels most at home in vast underground caverns shaped by ancient, and sometimes not-so-ancient, volcanic activity.

Volcadon rarely cross each other's paths within the labyrinthine passages they roam. That is not to say that Volcadon have zero contact with each other. Many Creo scientists suppose that Volcadon's mysterious and ineffable roar is its primary mode of communication with its kind across long distances, and that the different timbres of its calls depend on the nature of its message or mood.
