Creopedia is a wiki you can read without an account. This policy covers what we collect when you read it, what we do not, and what changes if that ever changes.

What this policy covers

This policy covers the Creopedia website, operated by Ilmfinity Studios LLC.

The EvoCreo games are separate. They collect different information, for different reasons, under their own privacy policy. Reading Creopedia puts nothing into the games, and playing them puts nothing into Creopedia. Each policy governs its own property.

Nothing third-party runs on this wiki

As of the date at the foot of this page, Creopedia runs:

• no analytics or measurement of any kind;
• no advertising, ad network or tracking pixels;
• no social, video or media embeds;
• no externally hosted images, fonts or scripts;
• no comment, chat or feedback widgets;
• no cross-site or advertising cookies.

Nothing third-party is embedded in these pages at all, and nobody but us and our hosting provider sees that you visited. If we ever add anything on that list, we will update this policy before it goes live and change the date at the foot of the page.

Our Discord invite is an outbound link, not an embed, so nothing from Discord loads while you are here. Follow it and Discord's own privacy policy and terms apply instead of ours.

Who handles your data

Ilmfinity Studios LLC is the data controller.

The wiki runs on MediaWiki, hosted on ProWiki, a managed platform operated by Professional Wiki GmbH of Berlin, Germany, acting as our data processor: they run the servers on our instructions and make no other use of what passes through them. Their policy is at pro.wiki/privacy-policy, which we link rather than restate so that it stays accurate.

Servers are in Germany and backups in France, both in the European Union. If you are reading from the United States, your data is handled outside it, under European data protection law.

Server logs

Creopedia sits behind a web server that records requests: your IP address, the time, the page requested, your browser's user agent, and the referring page if there was one.

Logs exist to deliver the site, keep it running and defend it against abuse. They are kept for as long as our hosting provider retains them, and no longer than we need them for security and operations. We do not profile you with them, and we do not sell, share or hand them to advertisers.

Cookies

For a reader without an account, Creopedia sets very little: a session cookie when the software needs one, and small preference cookies remembering choices such as dismissing a notice or setting a display option.

No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set. Nothing we set today requires your consent, so there is no consent banner. If that changes, the banner and this section arrive together. Clear or block cookies in your browser and the wiki still works. It just forgets your preferences.

Accounts and page history

Public registration is not open. The only accounts belong to Ilmfinity staff, so today the wiki collects no account information from readers, because there is no account for a reader to create.

Staff edits are public: a team member's username, the time, what changed and any edit summary are recorded in the page history, visible to anyone and kept permanently. That is how a wiki stays accountable, and it is deliberate.

If and when we open registration to players, an account will collect information a read-only visit does not. We will set out exactly what, and publish it before accounts go live rather than after.

Children's privacy

Because registration is not open, Creopedia does not knowingly collect personal information from children through accounts, profiles, submissions or comments. There is nothing on the site through which a child could submit any.

What does happen is the passive logging above. A child reading Creopedia is logged exactly as any other reader: an IP address and request details, held for as long as our hosting provider retains them, used only to serve the page and keep the site up, never to profile or advertise.

Parents and guardians who want to know what we hold about their child, or want it deleted, should write to [email protected]. We will revisit this section before we open registration, not afterwards.

If you are in the EU or the UK

Our hosting is European and our players worldwide, so the GDPR and UK GDPR are in play.

Our lawful basis for the logging above is legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f): we need it to deliver the site securely and keep it standing up. We are not asking for consent because we are not doing anything that requires it.

You have the GDPR rights over personal data we hold, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability (Articles 15 to 21). Write to [email protected] and we will respond within the statutory period. If you think we have got it wrong, complain to your local supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.

US state privacy laws

Whether the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, or a comparable state law applies to Ilmfinity Studios LLC turns on statutory thresholds: revenue, the number of consumers whose data is processed, and revenue from selling personal information. We assess that as those thresholds and our operations change.

Either way the substance does not move. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling. Where a state law gives you rights over data we hold, exercise them at [email protected] and we will not treat you differently for it.

Security and breach notification

Administrative access is limited to staff who need it, and the platform is maintained and patched by our hosting provider. If personal information we hold is exposed in a breach, we will notify affected people and any authority we are required to notify, as the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable law require.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes we update the date at the foot of the page. For anything that materially affects what we collect, such as opening registration or adding analytics, we publish the change before the practice starts.
