Conleon is a squat Earth and Nature-type creo whose presence revives the soil and plants around it.

Farmers and gardeners count themselves lucky to keep one or two Conleon around, since they leave behind rich droppings that make excellent fertilizer.

They eat from the plants too, but their feeding does no more damage than a good pruning, so the yield goes up overall. Conleon also clear away overgrown plants that would otherwise block the sunlight from smaller shoots.

Biology

Conleon has overlapping leaf-shaped plates down its back, a shock of grass green fur on its forehead and chest, and a thick tail wound tightly into a spiral. Its blunt snout is surprisingly good at burrowing into nooks at the base of large trees and other plants, and its toes are perfect for climbing trees and gripping branches.

Conleon have a taste for common pests and weeds, and they turn half-decomposed matter into fresh compost.

Conleon are most active at dawn and dusk. Through the day they rest half-buried in cool soil or leaf litter, with only the leafy plates on their backs and the crests on their foreheads showing, looking like a patch of undergrowth.

They show very little aggression and very little fear, relying on blending in rather than on fight or flight. Among their own kind they communicate with low, rumbling calls and movements of the tail. When plants are growing or decaying heavily, several Conleon may gather in one area and instinctively work together to revive the soil and vegetation.
