Luftdra is a Water and Air-type Creo with a streamlined body perfect for both diving and gliding.

Luftdra's favorite pastime is to leap over boats and then corkscrew around them in the water, sometimes generating a mild, harmless whirlpool. Its highly competitive nature means that thrill-seeking juveniles will often perform this feat in groups, delighting humans with exotic, colorful streaks of movement, each seeking to outdo the other.

Biology

Luftdra has a deep blue body, white underbelly, and variegated pink-purple fins, tail, and whisker-like barbels. It can shoot through both water and air with the speed of an arrow.

Younger Luftdra are more nimble, but also have less stamina, while older Luftdra can maintain high speeds for long periods of time, but are limited to less spectacular leaping exploits.

Luftdra feed on algae blooms, uprooted vegetation, and small aquatic species that try to hitch a ride on boat hulls.

Free-spirited and wide-ranging, Luftdra are not bound to any particular habitat or migratory pattern. Instead, they thrive in the wake of boats. Since the billows of sediment stirred up by human boating activity can be harmful to other ocean dwellers because they block out sunlight, Luftdra play the important ecological role of ingesting this sediment, diving deep, and depositing it back on the ocean floor, thereby clearing the water and restoring balance.

Luftdra travel in small bands organized by age, which ensures that all members of a given band can travel at approximately the same pace and execute the same maneuvers. While Luftdra often coordinate their movements as a band, they also compete with each other to see who can swim the fastest or who can glide in the air the longest. The results of these friendly contests help them establish a loose hierarchy among themselves.
