Orkandra is a regal Water-type creo renowned for its wisdom.

Orkandra station themselves near underwater population centers such as coral reefs, acting as a kind of referee, though they rarely have to step into creo affairs physically. Simply having an Orkandra nearby is enough to keep other creo behaving fairly.

Predators hunt what they need without terrorizing their prey. Squabbles and clashes dwindle to nothing.

Biology

Orkandra has a golden yellow body, a teal and white striped underbelly, a teal snout, and teal crown-like bony crests on its head, back, and tail. Those crests help it steer and also channel water currents and vibrations, letting Orkandra feel disturbances from great distances. Flexible white protrusions like eyebrows and whisker-like tendrils make it look ancient, though its average lifespan is 24 years.

For their size, Orkandra eat very little, living on water plants and plankton.

Orkandra have a segmented neck with ball-and-socket joints that allow a full 360-degree rotation, so they can watch everything around them without moving from the spot.

Orkandra save energy by simply floating in place, establishing themselves with a piercing, watchful gaze. When several share a region, they orient themselves at different angles with their backs to one another so that between them they can see the most water. Mostly, though, Orkandra space themselves out and avoid contact with their own kind. Between that habit and their calm, unshakable nature, disputes among Orkandra are exceedingly rare. When one does happen, everyone involved enters a stillness contest, holding position and eye contact until one quietly yields by drifting aside. There is never any physical contact. Violence is not even considered, since it would upset the underwater balance Orkandra are so committed to keeping.
