Orkandra is a regal Water-type Creo renowned for its wisdom.

Orkandra station themselves near underwater population centers like coral reefs like a referee of sorts, though they rarely have to intervene physically in any Creo affairs. Having Orkandra in the vicinity is enough to ensure balanced and equitable behavior from other Creo.

Predators hunt what they need without terrorizing their prey. Squabbles and clashes dwindle to nothing.

Biology

Orkandra has a golden yellow body, teal and white striped underbelly, teal snout, and teal crown-like bony crests on its head, back, and tail. These crests assist with its steering while also channeling water currents and vibrations, allowing Orkandra to feel disturbances across great distances. Flexible white eyebrow-like protrusions and whisker-like tendrils give Orkandra the appearance of great age, though its average lifespan is 24 years.

Despite their size, Orkandra eat very little, surviving off aquatic plants and plankton.

Orkandra have a segmented neck with ball-and-socket-like joints that allow full 360-degree rotation, enhancing their ability to observe their surroundings while remaining in the same location.

Orkandra conserve energy by simply floating in the water, establishing their presence with their piercing, watchful gaze. When multiple Orkandra inhabit the same region, they orient themselves at different angles with their backs to each other so that they can observe the greatest area. For the most part, however, Orkandra space themselves out and avoid contact with their kind. As a result of this practice and their calm, imperturbable nature, disputes between Orkandra are exceedingly rare. When such disputes occur, all parties engage in a stillness contest, holding position and maintaining eye contact until one subtly yields by drifting aside. No physical contact is ever made; violence is never even entertained as an option, as this would upset the aquatic equilibrium that Orkandra are so committed to upholding.
