Fyroey are small, nimble Fire-type Creo native to warm, dry regions such as deserts and lava flows. They are the base form of a three stage line that continues with Fyraby and Fyru.
Fyroey enjoy basking in the sun, preferably on a bed of sand, and they burrow into the sand or earth to create shelter for themselves.
They are solitary creatures as long as it is warm, but when heat is scarce, they seek each other out to pool their energy. Humans who share a closed room or shelter with a Fyroey report no need for an external heat source even in winter.
Biology
Fyroey get around by hopping on their strong hind legs and swinging their impressive tail for both balance and propulsion. They can comfortably sustain a pace of 20-25 km/h for at least 20 km but can reach speeds of 80 km/h over short distances. At top speeds, Fyroey can cover a horizontal distance of 30 meters in one bound, while they can leap to a vertical height of over 3 meters. Their large hind feet kick up a flurry of sand behind them, which makes them visible from far off, but no easier to catch.
Fyroey either live in warm, dry climates like the desert or near intense heat sources like the lava flows. Their primary food source is a chili-like fruit that grows on cacti. Without a constant supply of this fruit and its fiery juice, their digestion slows down and they are unable to process nutrients from other plants. Even water is a secondary necessity.
Basking on hot sand augments a Fyroey's metabolism. The dark fur on their back absorbs sunlight, which then intensifies the vivid crimson forehead, ears, paws, nose, and tufted tail. They may get sluggish when deprived of sunlight or heat, and their crimson fur dulls to brown. Their breath is especially warm, though not incendiary.
