Babo is a Nature-type creo that uses its pincers to latch onto prey.

Babo is a sit-and-wait predator. It chases nothing down. It lets the meal come to the pincers.

Biology

Babo has extremely fast reflexes, which let it catch many of the small, insect-like winged creo.

Interestingly, Babo has no mouth. Its pincers connect directly to its digestive system, and the nutrients from captured prey are slowly broken down and absorbed by membranes lining the inside of those pincers. Once a meal is fully digested, the pincers reopen for business.

With prey firmly in its grip, Babo seals its pincers shut and starts releasing acids and enzymes to soften the meal before consuming it. Even asleep, Babo plans ahead for the next one. All night its pincers stay wide open, giving off a tantalizing scent that attracts unwitting breakfast. The moment something touches the inner membrane, the pincers clamp shut and Babo's day of eating begins.

Babo usually stations itself inconspicuously near tree stumps, where its round brown body blends into the surroundings.
