Cordrake is a Water-type Creo that zips through coral reefs at dizzying speeds searching for plankton.

Cordrake's whole life happens inside the reef. It forages there, it shelters there, and it leaves its eggs there.

Biology

In such a colorful habitat, Cordrake's vibrant pink and turquoise coloration is an asset rather than a liability. It easily blends in with pink sea anemones and turquoise sponges. Its speed also helps it evade many predators.

A thin layer of mucus protects Cordrake from the stinging tentacles that keep other creatures out of anemones.

Cordrake must eat constantly to sustain its highly active lifestyle. Even with such a tiny body, it spends most of its waking hours foraging for plankton.

During the few hours that it rests, Cordrake takes refuge inside anemones. Cordrake mothers lay their eggs within the protective boundaries of anemones as well. Once they have performed this duty, they swim away and never look back, assuming that their young are in good tentacles. Some Cordrake fathers will linger near the nursery and patrol the perimeter, but this extra layer of security is redundant.
