Cordrake is a Water-type creo that darts through coral reefs at dizzying speeds hunting for plankton.

Cordrake's whole life happens inside the reef. It feeds there, it shelters there, and it leaves its eggs there.

Biology

In such a colorful home, Cordrake's bright pink and turquoise coloring helps it rather than hurts it. It blends right in with pink sea anemones and turquoise sponges. Its speed also helps it escape many predators.

A thin layer of slime protects Cordrake from the stinging tentacles that keep other creatures out of anemones.

Cordrake has to eat constantly to keep up with how active it is. Even with such a tiny body, it spends most of its waking hours searching for plankton.

During the few hours it rests, Cordrake takes shelter inside anemones. Cordrake mothers lay their eggs inside anemones as well. Once that duty is done, they swim away and never look back, trusting that their young are in good tentacles. Some Cordrake fathers linger near the nursery and patrol the edges, but that extra layer of security is not really needed.
