When a group of Singlish unites, they become Shoalish, a Water-type Creo that behaves as a superorganism.

Human treasure-hunters view Shoalish as a good omen and will often pursue it in hopes of being led to valuable loot. Shoalish are wary of humans, retreating quickly if approached, though they may circle divers at a distance if reflective equipment is visible.

Biology

Shoalish appears as a swirling cluster of bodies moving with near-perfect synchronization. It usually shapes itself into the form of a giant Singlish, with each body filling in the place of a shimmering blue scale, but it can take whatever shape is necessary in a given moment. It moves as one entity, flowing through water like a living current, and its individual members communicate through both chemical signals and physical cues.

Shoalish can confuse predators through rapid, mirrored movements and flashes of reflected light.

Like Singlish, Shoalish eat small marine animals uncovered through digging, but they feed more efficiently, sharing food discoveries across the group.

Shoalish survival depends on unity and swarm intelligence. Drawing strength from numbers, Shoalish asserts a confident and alert presence within the reef. Shoalish inhabit the same reflective coral reefs as Singlish, but occupy wider territories. Their combined attraction to shiny objects becomes amplified, and Shoalish are often seen excavating large seabed pits cooperatively, uncovering long-buried wreckage or ancient debris. Other Creo are more cautious around Shoalish, as their unified motion and sudden bursts of activity can be disorienting. Shoalish will relocate as a group if reef conditions deteriorate.
