When a group of Singlish unites, they become Shoalish, a Water-type creo that behaves as a single superorganism.

Human treasure hunters take Shoalish as a good omen and will follow one in hopes of being led to something valuable. Shoalish are wary of people and retreat quickly if approached, though they may circle a diver at a distance if there is reflective gear on show.

Biology

Shoalish looks like a swirling cluster of bodies moving in near-perfect time. It usually shapes itself into a giant Singlish, each body standing in for a single shimmering blue scale, but it can take whatever shape the moment calls for. It moves as one thing, flowing through the water like a living current, and its members communicate through both chemical signals and physical cues.

Shoalish can confuse a predator with rapid mirrored movements and flashes of reflected light.

Like Singlish, Shoalish eat the small sea animals turned up by digging, but they feed more efficiently, sharing what they find across the group.

Shoalish survival depends on unity and swarm intelligence. Drawing strength from numbers, a Shoalish carries itself confidently through the reef. They live in the same reflective coral reefs as Singlish but hold wider territory. Their shared attraction to shiny things is amplified, and Shoalish are often seen digging out large pits in the seabed together, uncovering long-buried wreckage and ancient debris. Other creo are more cautious around them, since the unified motion and sudden bursts of activity can be disorienting. If conditions on a reef deteriorate, a Shoalish relocates as a group.
