Frata is a Water-type creo that positively bulges with blubber.

Frata is as comfortable on the ice as it is in the water, and it is never in any hurry to leave either one.

Biology

Frata is the perfect natural example of dressing in layers. Its outer layer of feathers is slick with a water-repelling oil. Under that waterproof shell are layers of downy insulation that trap air and body heat. Beneath the skin, Frata is padded with a specialized layer of fat that buffers its warm insides from the cold outside.

That blubber keeps working under the high pressures of deep water. All together, these defenses mean Frata never gets chilled to the bone, even after hours of diving in an ice cold sea.

Frata gets most of its food from the ocean. It loves to swim, but it can also cover great distances on ice, skating with surprising agility, and it enjoys the challenge of hopping from one ice floe to the next with a little boost from its stumpy wings.
