Aphixel is a Nature and Light-type creo that takes the motion dazzle effect to the next level.

Aphixel has no offensive weaponry to speak of. Everything it does to survive comes down to interfering with what a predator perceives.

Biology

Aphixel carries prismatic membranes on its wings, which it manipulates to bend light.

Rather than simply using stripes to break up its outline or hide the speed and direction of its movement, Aphixel produces an ever-shifting pattern of geometric shapes. The optical illusions that result do more than confuse a predator. They have been known to bring on partial hypnosis.

If that is not defense enough, Aphixel can deflect light at different angles, either focusing it into a blinding beam or splitting it into a disorienting rainbow of saturated color. As a last resort against a particularly persistent predator, Aphixel can spray pollen in its face and set off a fit of violent sneezing while it escapes.

Its angular face houses a tightly curled tongue that can reach deep into a flower for nectar. It supplements that nectar with pollen, which it stores in its cheeks.
