Shadow Hive is a clandestine organization in EvoCreo known for its militaristic operations, genetic modification of Creo, and growing influence in both corporate and political spheres.
Description
Shadow Hive is a powerful organization that began as an offshot from Colmena. Colmean needed a private way to procure and run tests on creo for its research and Shadow Hive was created to operate separately from Colmena. Initially, it was smaller and less aggressive in their methods, but it has since evolved into a sprawling network that is more militaristic.
Today, Shadow Hive is infamous for its ruthless methods and clandestine activities. They are heavily involved in the genetic modification of Creo, creating specimens that are stronger, faster, and capable of evolving more rapidly than their natural counterparts. Shadow Hive is also known to steal creo from Evokers.
Structure
- Colmena – The political and corporate division of the organization. Colmena has gained influence and respect by proposing legislation that promotes genetic modification of creo and the use of Creo for domestic and industrial applications, embedding itself deeply within Zenith’s political apparatus.
- Shadow Hive – The militaristic wing, responsible for enforcement, covert operations, abductions, and the suppression of opposition.
The hierarchy within Shadow Hive is highly structured and secretive:
- ShadowHive Leader – The mysterious head of Shadow Hive, whose identity remains unknown even to high-ranking members. Through the events of EvoCreo 1, it is revealed that he is the protagonist's father.
- ShadowHive Queen – Executes and enforces the organization’s directives on the ground.
- ShadowHive Soldiers – Combat operatives responsible for carrying out missions and enforcing Shadow Hive control.
- ShadowHive Scientists – Conduct research and development, including genetic modification projects.
- ShadowHive Drones – The lowest rank, consisting of new recruits who serve on the front lines and are considered expendable.
Activities
Shadow Hive’s activities encompass a wide range of covert and overt operations:
- Genetic Modification – Shadow Hive engineers genetically modified Creo that are significantly more powerful than their natural forms. These creations are faster, stronger, and evolve more quickly, though they often gain less experience from battles.
- Creo Theft and Kidnapping – Members frequently steal Creo from Evokers and abduct civilians, often to further their experiments or to use as leverage.
- Political Manipulation – Through Colmena branch, the organization influences legislation and policy to expand the role of Creo in society and industry, thereby normalizing their experimentation and strengthening their hold on Zenith’s political landscape.
- Military Operations – Shadow Hive maintains secret bases and deploys assault teams across Zenith. One such base is located on a remote island, where Evokers are tasked with uncovering their new plans and dismantling their operations.
Conflicts
Shadow Hive is in constant tension with the Alphites due to their controversial experimentation on Creo. Their ambitions often place them in direct opposition to Evokers and other groups who seek to preserve natural Creo evolution and autonomy.
