EvoCreo 2
== Game Overview == In EvoCreo 2, Ilmfinity Studios expands upon the world and storyline of EvoCreo 1, an adventure role-playing game (RPG) that blends open-world exploration, monster-collection, and strategy-based combat. The story of EvoCreo 2 takes place in Shoru, a vast continent packed with forests, caves, towns, quests, puzzles, secrets, and discoveries to be made. Shoru teems with mythical creatures called Creo. For thousands of years, these tameable monsters have roamed the lands, their origins and evolution shrouded in mystery. Over time, human Evokers have honed the art of taming and training Creo and competing against other Evokers in turn-based battles. However, there are some who have begun to frown upon this practice. With over 300 unique monsters to capture, train, and evolve, players can build their dream Creo team. As players progress from arena to arena and rise through the ranks of Evokers, they and their Creo can unlock 100+ unique traits, or abilities, and 200+ moves, allowing them to customize their strategy for each fight. The ultimate goal is to compete in the prestigious Coliseum, where only the best monster trainers are crowned as champions and bestowed the title of Evoking Master Trainer. Along the way, the player can assist the citizens of Shoru by completing over 50 engaging missions, building alliances, and discovering hidden treasures. == Plot Summary == The player begins his journey as a graduate and new cadet of the Evoker Cadet Academy (Shoru Police Academy?) under the command of Captain Grizzly. Upon graduation, the player and his fellow cadets are granted their first Creo. The cadets soon receive word that the mayor of Zaytoon Village has had his prized Creo, Billigote, stolen by some hooligans, so they set off to recover it. Along the way, they learn that Creo have been vanishing from other towns as well. The mayor overheard the people who stole his Creo mention the name Free Cognito. Following this trail, the player tracks down Billigote and the Free Cognito members who captured it. At first, the Free Cognito members attempt to convince the player that they are working for the benefit of Creo by freeing them from abusive owners. They argue that the mayor is one of the abusive owners in question, as he still demands that the aging Billigote support his considerable weight when he rides it for hours on end. The player fights and defeats the Free Cognito members. They flee, leaving Billigote behind for the player to take home to the mayor. To the player’s dismay, one of his fellow cadets got to the mayor first and took the credit for retrieving Billigote, setting himself up as the player’s rival. The mayor insists that the cadets put an end to Free Cognito’s disruptive operations. Although Captain Grizzly privately advises the cadets to drop the investigation, the player and the upstart rival cadet race to investigate the mysterious group and its link to the Creo disappearances. Moving from village to village, the player beats the local arenas and Regional Arena Defenders (RADs), earning parts of the key needed to enter the Shoru Coliseum. The player also has the option to complete side quests, often by helping out Shoru citizens or collecting valuable artifacts with special powers. When the player arrives at Muhit City, the police notify everyone that Free Cognito has been sighted in the vicinity. Immediately after the player’s victory at the Muhit Arena, it must be evacuated due to a security breach caused by Free Cognito. Following the evacuation, the player confronts a Free Cognito Sensei who attempts to explain the group’s actions. According to him, Free Cognito wants to put an end to exploitative practices such as pitting Creo against each other for sport or riding infirm Creo. Creo should be allowed to live with dignity alongside humans, as equals. While many consider Free Cognito’s methods to be extreme, the current situation requires drastic action. Unbeknownst to the player, Free Cognito has plotted to destroy the Muhit Arena. Just as the Sensei finishes his spiel, he gives the command, and the arena explodes. As the player and his peers plumb the depths of the Free Cognito conspiracy, they unearth shocking truths about the identity of the organization’s leaders, all of whom profess that they have the best of intentions: ending the systemic abuse of Creo by those in power. At last, having battled and beaten every RAD along his journey, the player challenges the Coliseum and completes his arc by earning his place in the Hall of Champions. === Plot Spoiler === The player and his peers make their way through Electree City to investigate an abandoned power plant in Sunrise Forest. At the plant, they run into none other than Captain Grizzly. Grizzly reveals that he founded Free Cognito to combat the maltreatment of Creo once he realized that he could not effect the change he wanted to see through traditional means like joining the police force. He defends himself, explaining that, while Free Cognito does take extreme measures at times, it is only in response to the systemic exploitation of Creo by governments and corporations. After being defeated by the player, Grizzly escapes, leaving a key fragment behind him. The player sticks around to defeat the RAD of Electree City and then moves on through a few more cities and villages toward Barkan City where the Free Cognito headquarters are situated. The player fights his way through Free Cognito’s headquarters, only to barge in on a meeting between Grizzly and one of the other cadets—now exposed as a double agent. She confesses that Grizzly’s arguments at the power plant persuaded her to join Free Cognito. The player is shortly followed by the police. While Grizzly is captured, the cadet manages to escape. After collecting all the Shoru keys, the player tracks down the double agent cadet at the Coliseum in Akhir City. She declares her mission to expose the corruption of corporations that are abusing and experimenting on Creo. Just as she finishes releasing incriminating files to the general public, she is arrested and led away by the police. == Release History == EvoCreo 2, the sequel to the monster-taming RPG EvoCreo by Ilmfinity Studios, was first announced in February 2020 with an intended release in the fall of that same year, but it faced several years of delays due to development challenges. After a long wait, pre-registration for the mobile version opened in early 2025, and the game officially launched on Android and iOS on March 1, 2025. Following its launch, the game received multiple updates in the spring of 2025 that added features such as cloud saves, stability improvements, and gameplay refinements. During mid-2025, EvoCreo 2 was promoted alongside anniversary celebrations for the original game. A PC version is planned, with the Steam release currently expected in early 2026.
